Our Story

We first met online sometime in 2007, the exact date unknown to either of us as we were just acquaintances playing a video game. We didn't start talking and become friends until 2009. It wasn't a good year for either of us, Doug was let go from his job (along with millions of other Americans) and my marriage ended. Even with our personal issues we grew closer, and in the fall we decided to meet.


It was the 18th of October. I travelled by train from my home in Moncton, NB and Doug drove up from his in Dayton, OH. Room 124 of the Hampton Inn, Niagara Falls, NY. We spent 7 amazing days together, and the trip ended up meaning more than either of us ever dreamed.
